Initially immersed urceolate black ascomata with a narrow pore (c.20% diam.) and bordered near margin by smooth, straight hairs. (Margin often appears whitish in immature apothecia). Exciple laterally greenish brown, K+ olivaceous. Asci are 8-spored, spores simple, hyaline, 7-9(-13) x (2-)3-3.5(-4.5) µm. Micrographs below.

Occurs on thallus and apothecia of corticolous Lecanora species

Similar: Unguiculariopsis thallophila, also on Lecanora species, but has reddish-brown apothecia, rims with curved hairs
