Thallus whitish or pale grey with a +/- conspicuous white prothallus. Apothecia with persistent, well-developed margins, discs rarely pruinose, pale or mid brown. Medulla with large crystals, epithecium with granules not extending between the paraphyses (dissolving in K). POL Micrograph (in water) below. UV reflects mauve-purple

Occurs on bark and wood (mainly from deciduous trees). Distribution uncertain owing to previous mapping with L. chlarotera sens lat
