Species: Scoliciosporum chlorococcum

Growth type crustose.

Widespreading grey-green to blackish-green irregularly granular thallus. Often found sterile but when present the glossy apothecia are reddish-brown to brown-black when wet.

Very pollution tolerant. Common but easily overlooked on damp, shaded, nutrient-rich bark, also on wood and heather stems, rare on rock. Chemical reactions negative.
