Species: Lobarina scrobiculata (Lobaria scrobiculata)   Photos: Bantry House, Co.Cork, and Killarney, Co.Kerry, Ireland. Irregularly-lobed yellowish-green thallus, turning blue-grey when wet. Lobes slightly ridged with large shallow depressions. Blue-grey soredia on ridges and margins. Under surface is pale-brown, tomentose and with whitish patches. Apothecia are infrequent. Occurs on shaded trees in old woodland, most frequent in SW Ireland. Chemical reactions usually negative, sometimes K+ pale yellow, KC+ faint pink. |
