Species: Cladonia portentosa Photos: On wet heath near bog. Ballingeary, Cork, SW Ireland. Confirmed by John Douglass Variable. Primary squamules absent. Very branched, whitish to green-grey and forming loose compact tufts. Axils often perforate. Branching mainly trichotomous, can be dichotomous at ends. Branchlet tips spreading in all directions.
