Growth type crustose.

Small patches of convex, white or occasionally very pale grey areoles, sometimes notched or almost placodioid at margins. Abundant crowded, greenish or pink-brown, +/- white pruinose apothecia. Disc margins are persistent, even, crenulate or wavy.

Common and widespread on well-lit mortar, concrete, paving stones, memorials and hard calcareous rocks.
Chemical reactions negative.
