Growth type crustose.

Small inconspicuous or areolate yellowish-green or grey-green thallus, often with black prothallus. Small pale yellow to greenish-yellow convex apothecia, paler margin becoming excluded.

Common throughout Ireland on siliceous rocks, walls and worked timber. Thallus K+ indistinct yellow, C-, KC+ yellow, P-, UV-
