Discs red-brown when moist, dull-brown to black when dry. Simple colorless spores. Hymenium I+ pale blue. Infrequently recorded, occurs on natural hard, sunny or shaded limestone. Irish records are from the Burren, Co. Clare. Chemical reactions negative.
