Species: Lecanora varia Photos: On wooden seat. Kilcolman, Co.Limerick, Ireland Yellow-grey to grey-green granular thallus, sometimes forming an areolate crust. Crowded yellow-brown or green-brown apothecia, the distorted 2-layer thalline margin over-arching young discs. Early coloniser of sawn wood, fences, tops of posts, hardwood gates. Usually on well-lit horizontal surfaces. K- or K+ pale yellow, C-, usually P+ yellow. UV+ dull orange |
