Order: Teloschistales       Family: Teloschistaceae Species: Caloplaca maritima Growth type crustose Photos: On coastal rock. Snave, Cork, SW Ireland. Very similar to C. marina but has a yellowish areolate thallus with pale yellowish-white prothallus. Numerous waxy yellowish-orange or deep-yellow apothecia. Very under-recorded but can form large patches on coastal rocks, concrete and walls. Found higher on the shoreline than C. marina and can extend slightly inland. K+ crimson / purple.
