Species: Diploicia canescens Photos: Ballyrisode beach, Co.Cork and Foynes, Co.Limerick, Ireland. White or very pale bluish-grey thallus covered with patches of yellowish soralia. Convex marginal lobes widening towards the apices, white-pruinose, thallus centre eroding with age. Apothecia with black discs, rare inland, can be more frequent in coastal areas. K+ yellow, C-, KC+ yellow, P-, UV- or UV+ orange Basic and nutrient-rich walls, rocks, headstones and trees. |
